As a proctor, you help uphold the quality, integrity, and fairness of BPI’s nationally recognized certifications by supervising candidates through their written and field exams. It’s an opportunity to share your expertise, support the next generation of professionals, and stay closely connected to the evolving standards that drive energy efficiency, comfort, and safety in buildings.
Apply to Become a BPI Proctor
BPI Proctors must hold the certification for any field exams they administer. Follow the steps below to apply:
- Review the BPI Proctor Policies and Procedures for the certifications you wish to proctor (Air Leakage Control Installer, Core, or Home Energy Professional (HEP) certifications).
- Complete the BPI Proctor Application and Code of Ethics.
- Submit the following additional information to BPI:
- HEP Proctor-Trainer Agreement (Appendix section of Proctor Policies and Procedures - page 44)
- Completed Acknowledgement and Signature Page (Appendix section of Proctor Policies and Procedures)
- Brief biography or resume
- Notice of association from the Test Center for which you will be providing services
- Pay the $450 Proctor fee and complete the appropriate Proctor orientations.
- Approval: Once approved, the BPI Test Center
