Standards are strongest when they reflect the expertise and perspectives of a diverse community. The Standards Technical Committees (STC) play a vital role in helping shape high-quality, practical standards through a transparent, inclusive process.
By joining the STC, you’ll:
- Contribute your expertise to strengthen standards and ensure they meet real-world needs
- Collaborate with peers and thought leaders across industries
- Support a fair and balanced process where every perspective is considered
- Each voting member selects the interest category that applies to them, as required by ANSI and BPI procedures. This safeguards balance and ensures that no single viewpoint dominates - creating standards that are credible, usable, and widely accepted
Your participation helps ensure the standards we create are practical, widely applicable, and reflective of the broader community.
Standard Technical Committees
Each year, BPI solicits new members for its Standards Technical Committees (STCs). You may apply by providing information about yourself, your company, and which standards groups you are interested in.
Complete the STC Membership Application and submit it to standards@bpi.org. A representative from BPI's Standards department will review your information and contact you regarding potential opportunities.
